Hey what's up guys, so here  we have already seen review of the budget but yet featured packed Realme 1 a couple of months ago but if you're looking for something, a bit different now there's a  Realme 2 and it's just arrived so, let's check it out  here's the detail in the discussion below. 

Note that there's no mention of oppo, here Realme actually just split with them and became a  separate company open it up.

Inside the box

we see the phone comes out of the box with some plastic wrapping looks like there's a  screen protector on here - all so we have the micro USB cable but no USB C here and a 10-watt charger with no headphones in this box all right.

Key features

so here is the Realme 2. let's go over its key features, firstly it has a notch display unlike the Realme 1 this one which has a 6.2-inch display with a notch at the top. This trend is really getting famous, around the screen there is an IPS LCD and it  certainly looks pretty massive with this  minimal bezels thanks to the notch cut  out but we didn't see an option for hiding  it with a black bar though unlike on most other phones with a notch overall  this big display doesn't make a whole  lot of sense to me.

Display and storage 

The resolution is only 720p and it is stretch over this large space you get 271 PPI density so what should be impressive looking is actually a bit grainy if you look closely. For your audio you have a  standard bottom firing speaker down next  to the micro USB port or you can alter  plug in headphones to the 3.5 millimeter  jack, there's a built-in FM radio too, so you can tune in anywhere and if you  decide to bring your music library with you then there is storage which is expandable  or you  have 64Gb built-in storage.

Design and looks

Next on the list is its design with a bit of flair though this phone probably won't win any beauty, Realme did try to add some  spice to his design the back is made of  a glass-like material some sort of  plastic there's sort of a holographic  polygon design inside which you can see when it catches the light really similar  to the Realme, so what not bad for a budget phone what we have here are the diamond black and diamond red colors it should be. A diamond blue colour option also available.

Besides this patterns I also thought that  the chrome highlights around the cameras  and the fingerprint reader which is nice like the back the frame, it is also made of  plastic and the rounded edges feel kind  of fat but comfortable you won't have to  worry about shattering your plastic phone but there is no water protection  and face unlock.

one shortcoming of the Realme 1 is  that it doesn't have a fingerprint reader, in contrast, the Realme 2 has a  rear-mounted scanner that is quite fast  and accurate and on a bunch of devices it's nice to see the option for face  unlock - it uses the front cam though not infrared so it won't be quite as  efficient to use in the dark.

Performance

Next coming to its power-efficient chipset and big battery which is a Snapdragon 450 chipset in either 3 or 4 Gb of ram it's a  bit of a step down from the Helio P 60  inside of the Realme 1 but the Snapdragon 450 still does ok it shouldn't overheat and this power efficient together with a large 4200 mah power battery.

Software

The Realme 2  should be able to run for a long time on a single charge charging speed with the 10-watt charger might leave more to be desired though the user interface is oppo colour OS / Android 8.1 Oreo. it's pretty far from stock Android though it doesn't seem too bloated swiping over to the left opens customizable panels which can display travel info and weather and also there's a theme store with plenty of new backgrounds to choose from finally a  dual camera setup.

Camera

The Realme 2 has a  dual camera setup but like a lot of devices these days the second camera is only a depth sensor for portrait mode whereas the main camera is 13 megapixels with an F/2.2 aperture and have face detection with autofocus here are a couple of quick  shots we took for you to check out and here's a portrait shot with a defocused background made possible, thanks to the 2 megapixels 2nd sensor  don't worry  we'll go more in depth about the camera  quality in our full review.

So today I'm going to compare these two phones, the Xiaomi Mi A2 and the Nokia  6.1 plus, these were too greatly anticipated phones before they launched the Mi A2 because of its stock Android interface.

The fact that Mi A2 was a successor to a great phone to Mi A1 and the Nokia 6.1 plus because it packs all  the greatness which will give  premium look and feel to it with the  glassy back, here you get the Nokia 6.1 plus at 15,999 and the Mi A2 at 16,999  both phone have the 4 GB 64gb variants.

But what are the differences and which one is a better pick of the two, let's find out.

Nokia 6.1 plus & Mi A2: Design Comparison

So let's begin with  the design part of these two smartphones,  the two differences that you would notice straight away is that the Nokia 6.1 plus is a much smaller phone that has a notch display which makes it quite handy and easy to use with one hand and secondly it has a glass back it has a  metal frame but more glass is used on the phone while on the Mi A2 you'll  find there is no notch it's a usual thin bezel design display and it is fully made out of metal it's a full metal-unibody design and this gives it a very solid and reassuring feel in the hands.

Now obviously the Nokia 6.1 Plus looks like a more premium design, most phone  companies nowadays have moved on to this design be it the one plus or even Samsung  or Apple the notch design is also latest and futuristic while Xiaomi sticks to the usual design on the Mi A2 like we saw on the redmi note 5 pro as well.

Now there are drawbacks and plus points to both these designs the Nokia 6.1+ sometimes feels that it would slip out of hand while the Mi A2 gives you a very reassuring feel and a good grip in the hands and it's also slightly thinner and not very heavy so it's also not very difficult to use.

Nokia 6.1 plus & Mi A2: Drawbacks

But there are some small differences as well that you  should note firstly while using the phone with one hand you'll see that the fingerprint scanner is not properly placed on this Nokia 6.1 +  my resting  position or finger is this while it's easy accessible on the Mi A2 secondly, if we talk about the slots you'll see  the Nokia 6.1 plus has an expandable storage slot while you don't find it on the Mi A2  also another disadvantage a big disadvantage to Mi A2  is that it doesn't have a 3.5 mm audio jack, which is available on the Nokia 6.1 plus, here  you get type-c USB port and bottom speakers with dual microphones for noise cancellation but there is no  headphone jack on the Mi A2.

Now if we talk about the display, Nokia 6.1 + seems to have a smaller screen but the difference is not major. The Nokia 6.1 Plus has a 5.8 inch display it's full HD panel and aspect ratio is 19:9  while the Mi A2  has a 5.9 inch display it's also full HD plus and in resolution it has an 18:9 aspect ratio, well I won't say the color  on both the displays are accurate it's  closer to accurate on the Nokia 6.1 plus  and overall also the display is slightly sharper better in contrast and  brightness levels.

If we talk about the touch experience they slightly smoother on the Nokia 6.1 plus which is quite surprising because the  Mi A2 has a  Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which is  supposed to be better in performance  compared to the new classics point Nokia 6.1 +  that has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 both on front and the back, but you won't feel  the difference unless you compare them  side-by-side the difference is very  small and the, in fact, it has a very smooth touch experience as well the Notch display on the Nokia 6.1 + is also properly optimized when you are viewing apps, you will see  information is not eaten up in the notch area and if there is an application that doesn't utilize the notch area it will  put black bars automatically around the  notch which is nice.

Now let's talk about the performance of both these devices  both the phones have adopted with the Android one platform which is quite a good strategy you'll be getting Android updates on both these phones, so that is not a problem but in terms of software both phones are pretty amazing while the performance is slightly different the  Mi A2 run on snapdragon 660 which is  clocked at 2.2 gigahertz, while the nokia  6.1 +1 Snapdragon 636 which is clocked at 1.8 gigahertz both have an LP DDR4 ram, so there is slight difference in the chipsets of  these two phones and you will see the  differences of that in the loading of  apps, here you'll see the Mi A2 is slightly  faster when it comes to uploading the  difference as you see is not major but apps are loading faster on the Mi A2  also when you are switching between apps you'll see Mi A2 to be slightly Slow as compared to the Nokia 6.1 plus again the difference is not much now both phones  run Android 8.1  and the cool feature of this is that as soon as you switch to  a dark wallpaper the theme of the phone  is converted into a dark one so the app  drawer gets a dark background the dropdown menu also gets a dark background  with white toggles and it looks pretty amazing.

Now let's test the fingerprint  scan unlock the difference is marginal it's nothing great but if we had to neat pick the Mi A2 would be ahead in  speed overall, if I talk about performance the Mi A2 will surely win this round but I think Nokia 6.1 plus  also made an intelligent decision by using Snapdragon 636 and I'll tell  you why there are two reasons for that  because the Snapdragon 636 has a lower clock speed you'll see that it doesn't  heat up while gaming and to the battery consumption is also less  we found a Mi A2 would heat up more and would heat up earlier than the Nokia 6.1 plus.

Daylight Condition

Now let's talk about the  cameras on both the phones Mi A2  has a 12 and 20 megapixel dual camera setup  with F 1.75 aperture on the primary  camera, where the Nokia 6.1 plus has a 16 + 5 megapixel setup with F 2.0  aperture on the main camera for most of  the camera samples  the Mi A2 turned out to be a  clear winner  it captures not only better details but more accurate colors too and that is  surprising because Mi A2  has lower resolution on its primary sensor dynamic  range on both phones is nice they're able to capture shadows and highlights well but in HDR photos again Mi A2  wins, while the Nokia  6.1 Plus image appears slightly washed  out in low-light as well, Mi A2 captures much sharper photos here Mi A2  wins again, though you  would need to see it very closely to  find that differences two captures better details and more accurate colors  while Nokia 6.1 plus images a slightly  over processed and the Mi A2  also has a  front flash.

Final Verdict

So overall the Nokia 6.1  plus seems to be a better overall package it not only has a headphone jack, which the Mi A2  misses out on but gives  you good battery backup a slightly sharper display and a more  premium look and feel you can also  choose to pick up the Mi A2  if you want better cameras better build quality overall and a slightly faster  performance.
